FLEGT stands for Forest, Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade. Starting November 15th 2016, the import of several types of wood, wood products, paper and pulp from Indonesia became regulated under FLEGT. You may only import these goods if you are the holder of a FLEGT-license. This measure is intended to reduce illegal logging by focusing on sustainable and legal forest management. The FLEGT license is a part of the Voluntary Partner Agreement between the European Union and several non-European countries. Indonesia is the first country to issue and govern the FLEGT License.
